Oh Boy...

Don't call, knock, or even think about us today unless you're dressed very much like this:

Even then, you may want to go wash up after reading this blog.
It shouldn't be long now before some group comes in and yellow tapes off our home for quarantine. On Saturday Grace threw up all night, spiked a high fever and recovered by Sunday. On Monday morning Emily woke up with stomach pains, started throwing up by noon...kept throwing up till 9 p.m. then she spiked a high fever in the night and recovered on Tuesday. This morning Mark woke up puking. He's been in the bathroom now 4 times already.

So, I'm busy cleaning toilets round the clock and fending off germs with my trusty Purell and hoping to goodness they don't scurry up my arm while I'm watching Bridezilla this morning. Man I wish I had a face mask I could wear...

Sugar

Sweet Brown Sugar got a new harness today...doesn't she look pretty?

Emily got to ride outside for the first time today...she did great! Sugar on the other hand was a bit frisky! Twice Grandma and Grandpa had to shove her back into the ring. We decided that next Saturday Emily will start taking lessons with a trainer named Beth. This women has trained horses that went on to the Olympics. Click here to see the video of her riding today...

First Day of School

Well, after a quick and fun filled summer our girls are back to school. We had a blast shopping for new clothes which is the silver lining around the grey cloud that is the beginning of school. Why is that? I always loved school when I was a kid. The new clothes, my friends, the cute boys...oh no! The cute boys! Oy!

So...without further ado, which may lead to me sobbing all over the keyboard, here are my beauties on their first day:

Dear Father, thank you so much for the gift You have given us in these children. I pray that You will watch over them all the days of their lives, keep them safe while they are at school and away from their mommy and daddy. I pray that You would keep evil away from them and away from their schools. Father God I pray that You would protect their minds and their bodies and their souls from things that are not meant for them. I pray that You would help them to learn all they need to this school year and that they will end the year with nothing but happy memories. Father God, we love You and trust in You only, it's in Your Sons perfect name I pray, Amen.

Ever had a dream come true?

So, about a month ago my mom and dad, my brother and his family and my dear friend Anne and her family spent the afternoon at the pool. After becoming sufficiently water logged my mom and I were sitting by the pool talking and just for fun I asked her what she would do if $10,000 fell into her lap, no strings attached and she's not allowed to invest it. And without even taking time to think about she said she'd buy a horse and board it. Then she leaned over and in a giddy school girl tone she whispered to me..."Can you keep a secret?"

My mom bought a horse! A horse!

She's kept this UNBELIEVABLE secret for a few weeks so she could make sure the other girls at the ranch would let our sweet little mare into their clique and finally today the family got to meet her...her name is Sugar! And my little mares are BESIDE themselves!

NEW BEDROOM!!!

Oh! I am soooo excited! So we started redecorating our (hideous) bedroom this week. We've lived here for almost 7 years now and have painted 6 of our 10 rooms. And now it's our turn. I have a vision for the room and in my head it's so pretty! I just hope it pans out...We have a handy man here as I type hanging up bead board. He's pretty awesome. If anyone needs a great handy man give me a shout out. Anyway...here is an embarrassing before:

And the during:

I can't wait to show you (and me!) the after!

One of my Favorite Blogs

Had this today...

A politically correct Golden Book

My mom and I found a great little stack of Golden Books at a yard sale in Montana for 10 cents each. I was thrilled that one of my favorites was in that stack.

As I was looking through it, I came to this page and had to do a double take. This isn't the book I remembered! This was a 1976 printing, so they must have changed it.

Sure enough, when we got home I pulled out my 1951 copy, this is what I saw and I had to laugh.

BTW...Check out her blog here...it's a good one!
